Fostering love for nature among the youth
ALI recently brought 300 elementary school students from the Center of Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX) to Nuvali, its largest sustainable estate in Laguna.
Centex is a public school learning environment where bright children from economically disadvantaged families gain the opportunity to experience quality education.
“We are grateful to ALI for being able to support these activities because not only do the kids have fun exploring and learning, but they also discover various communities and industries, and learn to appreciate their role in the community. Essentially, they also come to realize that there’s so much more that this country has to offer,” said Mia Falcis, Centex Associate Manager.
Students from grades two and four from the school’s Manila and Batangas campuses joined the Nuvali tour. They were guided by facilitators from The World of Outbound, a group that designs specialized educational tours for partners like Nuvali. According to the organization, around 8,000 educational trips have been conducted in Nuvali since 2009.
During the tour, students explored Nuvali’s “green activity centers,” including the Evoliving Center, which has interactive displays that educate guests about recycling, waste management and other environmental protection initiatives.
The students were also brought to the Nuvali lake where they took boat rides and fed Koi, and learned that the man-made water feature also serves as a rainwater catchment and recycled water reservoir. They likewise visited Greens and Patches, a three-hectare tree nursery and demo farm where children are taught about organic indoor farming.
“Through Nuvali, we hope to inspire people to search for and achieve a healthy and balanced way of life. ALI estates offer a diverse mix of residential, commercial and leisure products. These are all well integrated by pedestrian and transit networks, as well as ample green and open spaces,” said John Estacio, Nuvali General Manager.

Through the Nuvali tour, Centex students were introduced to a healthier, greener, and more sustainable way of life.
