Ayala Land, Inc. continues its commitment to enhance land and enrich lives for more people as it broke ground for Capitol Central, its latest mixed-use township in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

With Capitol Central, Ayala Land brings to Bacolod the same successful model of integrated, masterplanned and mixed-use estates such as Makati, Bonifacio Global City, NUVALI and North Point in Talisay. Once completed, the 9-hectare development will be composed of residential, retail, hotel and office components, all just a short walk away from the Capitol Park.

“We are truly excited to bring Ayala Land’s experience in developing communities to Bacolod,” shared Bobby Dy, Ayala Land President and CEO during the groundbreaking ceremonies. “Bacolod is a key growth area, and a city facing rapid growth, and we are privileged to have been given the opportunity to work with the Provincial and City governments as partners in progress.”

Seda, which won “Philippines Leading Hotel Group” in the “2014 World Travel Awards”, will open by Q4 2016. The eight-storey hotel will have 155 rooms and is envisioned to be the leading hotel for both leisure and business travellers to the city.

Ayala Malls Capitol Central will be a regional mall with a gross leasable area of 70,000 sqm that will provide more dining, shopping and entertainment options while incorporating familiar and unique retail concepts. It is envisioned to be a place where people converge, unwind, relax and connect with each other with various outdoor spaces and gathering places to enhance civic life.

A corporate center suited for 24/7 operations of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms will also be present spurring more employment opportunities for the nearby communities.

Completing the Ayala Land living experience in Capitol Central is Amaia Steps with its mid-rise residential condominiums. North Building, the first of two 9-storey residential buildings will have around 288 units with amenities and services (e.g. multi-purpose hall, swimming pool, jogging path, and landscape areas).

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the Provincial government of Negros Occidental led by Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. as well as officials of the Bacolod city government led by Mayor Monico Puentevella.

“Today marks another historic event for Negros Occidental as we break ground for one of the biggest development projects in our province,” said Negros Occidental Governor Hon. Alfredo Marañon, Jr.  “What used to be an idle piece of land for many decades will now be transformed into a center of economic activity.”
