Ayala Malls launches YALA Save a life bag
Helping bridge idea and reality, Ayala Malls in collaboration with Idea’Yala finalist Luna Collective takes the next step by bringing to life the Yala (Young and Living Awesome) Life Bag.
Ayala Malls’ Idea’Yala is a platform that aims to develop ideas through an innovation challenge which aims to engage the youth to collaborate for the mall of the future through design, technology or programs.
“Through the competition, we wanted to challenge the youth to imagine innovative mall experiences and to develop new entrepreneurial and design concepts that are viable, sustainable, market-inclusive, and/or have the potential to address the country’s social and environment concerns,” shares Idea’Yala co-founder Paloma Urquijo Zobel
Over 200 team entries and concepts were received with 30% of the entries coming from the provinces, Luna Collective of Cebu was chosen as the Idea’Yala finalist for their Yala Life Bag concept for its ingenuity, practical application and significant potential to help the Filipino. It provided a viable solution to a very real problem.
The Yala Life Bag is your all-around emergency life kit that comes with the basic emergency items such as flashlight, whistle and water. A Yala Life Bag tag checklist will be provided for shoppers to complete their calamity essentials. Living in a country that finds itself at the mercy of typhoons and floods every year, this survival kit will spell a difference in a person’s life.
From (October 23) to (November 22), shoppers can avail of the YALA Life Bag for just Php 300.00 by presenting Php 500.00 single and/or accumulated receipts at the participating mall of their choice which includes Glorietta, Greenbelt, Alabang Town Center, Market! Market!, TriNoma, Fairview Terraces, MarQuee Mall, Bonifacio High Street, Serendra, Ayala Center Cebu, Centrio Mall, Abreeza Mall, The District Imus, Solenad, and Ayala Malls Serin.
For every 2 YALA Life Bags bought, 1 YALA Life Bag will be given to those who need it the most.
Hero Foundation will be the beneficiary of Glorietta, while Greenbelt for Habitat for Humanity; and Batang Munti Foundation, a children’s community in Muntinlupa for Alabang Town Center.
Down south, Ayala Malls Serin will provide bags to the orphans at Little Angels Home, Inc, while Ayala Malls Solenad will give their bags to the Philippine Red Cross Sta. Rosa, Laguna chapter and The District Imus will provide the kits to the Children’s Joy Foundation.
The malls in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), including Market! Market!, Serendra and Bonifacio High Street will lend their hand to the following charities: HERO Foundation and Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation, Inc.
Fairview Terraces partners with the Philippine Red Cross- Caloocan Chapter while TriNoma with the HERO Foundation. All Yala Life Bags purchased at Abreeza Mall, Davao will help provide emergency kits to the SOS Children’s Village Davao Inc.
On the other hand, Ayala Center Cebu will bring bags all the way to Kinatarcan Island in Bantayan, the poor island communities in Cebu, through the Sto. Nino Augustinian Development Foundation (SNAF) for its Thousand Island Project (TIP).
