Ayala Land receives Healthy Places Awards

July 20, 2016 – AYALA LAND, INC. (ALI) received Healthy Places Awards for leadership in healthy design and performance from the Urban Land Institute (ULI) at the recent ULI and Philippine Green Building Council (PhilGBC) Awards for Excellence in Health and Sustainability.

Ayala Land cited for building healthy places

ALI’s Bonifacio Global City entry won in the Mixed Use Community (Large) category, while Ayala Land Premier’s Anvaya Cove topped the Residential-Horizontal category.  Seda Nuvali also received a special commendation in the Commercial-Hospitality category.

Established in 1936, the Urban Land Institute is an independent global non-profit organization that provides leadership in the responsible use of land, and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The Institute has more than 39,000 members worldwide today, representing the entire spectrum of land use and development disciplines.

The ULI Philippines Building Healthy Places Awards recognized ALI for advancing design strategies and building environments that promote healthy living in the Philippines, the importance of which is underscored by the direct link between human health and the built environment, and the health consequences from land use decisions and development patterns.

“We value the recognition from the Urban Land Institute, most especially because this raises awareness about what people really aspire to experience from their environment and community, which is a general sense of well-being, accomplishment, health and safety,” said ALI Group Head for Innovation and Design Joel N. Luna. “Central to ALI’s mission of enhancing land and enriching lives for more people is the objective of putting people’s welfare first. We have thus embraced a broader view of sustainability that includes livability and wellness into every community and project we build,” he added.

ALI’s Makati Central Business District and Nuvali entries also passed the ULI jury process and were named finalists in the Healthy Places Awards’ Mixed Use Community (Large) category, while the Garden Block at Cebu IT Park was also a finalist in the Mixed Use Community (Neighborhood) category.

Subsidiary Alveo Land, on the other hand, was selected as finalist for its residential horizontal developments, namely Ferndale Villas in Quezon City and Venare at Nuvali, as well as for its residential condominiums such as Kasa Luntian in Cavite, Senta in Makati, and The Meranti at Two Serendra in Bonifacio Global City.

At the same awards gala, the Philippine Green Building Council also named Ayala Land a finalist in the Business Leadership in Sustainability category and Seda Nuvali a finalist in the Leadership in Sustainability Design & Performance category of the PHILGBC Awards on Leadership in Green Building. These awards recognize companies that integrate sustainability into their business models and contribute to the transition towards a sustainable built environment.

Ayala Land is a leading, diversified property developer in the Philippines, building large-scale, integrated, mixed-use communities into economic centers in their respective regions. Following the success of the Makati Central Business District (Makati CBD), Ayala Alabang, Cebu Park District, Bonifacio Global City (BGC) and Nuvali, the company continues to increase its footprint nationwide by building estates across the country.

With close to 9,000 hectares of land bank, ALI is now present in 55 growth centers across the Philippines, offering a balanced and complementary mix of residential spaces, shopping centers, offices, hotels and resorts, convenience stores and health care facilities.
