Alviera, De La Salle plant the seeds for the 24-hectare Botanical Garden
In January 2019, Ayala Land, together with Leonio Land, marked the beginnings of La Salle Botanical Garden when it turned over the deed of donation to De La Salle Philippines for a 24-hectare parcel on which the Botanical Gardens will be built. The upcoming development, which is set to open in 2020, will rise in Alviera in Porac, Pampanga.
“The La Salle Botanical Gardens is our gift to the next generation. It’s our way of telling them what we can do to restore biodiversity in the Philippines,” President of De La Salle Philippines, Br. Dennis M. Magbanua FSC sai
Envisioned to be world-class, the project draws inspiration from internationally renowned botanical gardens, and will feature a collection of at least 25 themed gardens.
As a center for plant research, the project will also house a plant nursery, a laboratory, a herbarium and in due course, a seed bank to house indigenous and native species.
In addition, the gardens will also be a recreational venue for students, families, and tourists, with complementary facilities that include hiking trails, camp sites and exhibitions to inspire sustainable tourism as well as progressive learning through discovery.
The Botanical Garden is aligned with Alviera’s philosophy of urban living in nature.
“This project syncs perfectly with Alviera’s vision of urban living in nature. The Botanical Garden shall be the centerpiece of Alviera’s Greenbelt – a 5 km long green open space for everyone to enjoy,” Alviera General Manager John Estacio said. “It will serve as a unique feature that provides opportunities for learning and discovery; and ensures the sustainability of nature’s resources.”
Alviera, the 1,800-hectare master planned sustainable estate jointly developed by Ayala Land and Leonio Land, is strategically located in the heart of the fast–rising economic hub of Central Luzon. It is designed to provide the community with new work environments, a broad range of residential options, leisure and lifestyle destinations and quality institutions.
