ALI-MJCI San Lazaro BPO Complex Groundbreaking

Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) and its partner Manila Jockey Club Inc. (MJCI), broke ground last November 21, 2007 for the San Lazaro E-Services Building, which will be constructed within the San Lazaro BPO Complex located at the corner of Yuseco and Felix Huertas Streets, site of the former San Lazaro Racetrack in Sta. Cruz, Manila.

The San Lazaro E-Services Building, the first of 2 towers, will be a 14-storey, 21,000 square meter Grade-A facility designed to address the office space requirements and to cater to the 24x7 work environment of BPO firms. The facility will provide large and efficient building floor plates, telco & data redundancies, large capacity, high-speed elevators, 100% back-up power, support retail amenities and parks & open spaces. Nestled in the heart of city, the San Lazaro E-Services Building will form part of the mixed-use development of ALI in the Manila area, which includes residential towers and condominiums by Avida and Celadon Townhouses by Community Innovations Inc. The project site is considered an ideal location for BPO firms due to its close proximity to the University Belt and its accessibility to the major business districts, airports and seaports in the Metropolis. The San Lazaro E-Services Building will be the largest BPO facility in the city of Manila providing approximately 6,000 job opportunities for the residents of the city. Completion of the first tower is targeted for November 2008.

Shown in the groundbreaking ceremony (L-to-R): Mr. Jaime I. Ayala (President and CEO of Ayala Land Inc.), Mayor Alfredo Lim (City of Manila), Atty. Alfonso Reyno Jr. (Chairman of the Board & CEO, MJCI), Congresswoman Zenaida Angping (Third District of Manila), and Atty. Alfonso Reyno III (EVP & COO, MJCI).
