Traffic Advisory: Christmas Celebrity Run

CHRISTMAS CELEBRITY RUN 2009 (3K, 5K, 10K and 21K) will be held in the early morning of Sunday, December 20, 2009 with start and finish at the Bonifacio Global City. The 21K run will pass Makati City area thru EDSA-Kalayaan Flyover, Gil Puyat Avenue, Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue with estimated 800 runners to include celebrities and VIPs..

At the start of 21K at 5:00 a.m., westbound direction of EDSA-Kalayaan Flyover, Gil Puyat Avenue from Kalayaan Flyover to corner Ayala Avenue will be closed to traffic for use of the runners. Likewise, at 5:30 a.m., the outermost two lanes of Ayala Avenue westbound from Makati Avenue to Gil Puyat Avenue and the outermost one lane of Makati Avenue northbound from Ayala Avenue to Gil Puyat Avenue will be also be closed. The innermost lanes of Ayala Avenue westbound and Makati Avenue northbound and the opposite directions shall remain open to vehicular traffic.

Vehicles from Bonifacio Global City to EDSA shall use the ground level of Kalayaan Avenue, go up to EDSA Flyover and down to EDSA while those from EDSA/Gil Puyat Avenue going toward SSHW shall turn right to Zodiac Street, left to Jupiter Street, straight ahead to Metropolitan Avenue, left to Sacred Heart Street, left to Kamagong Street, right to Ayala Extn, and right to Gil Puyat Avenue to destination.

It is expected that all runners would have already passed Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue before 7:30 AM
