RUN FOR HOME Globe-Ayala Land City Run for Habitat of Humanity
RUN FOR HOME Globe-Ayala Land City Run for Habitat of Humanity will be held in the early morning of Sunday, July 19, 2009 with start and finish at the Global City. The run will pass Makati area thru EDSA-Kalayaan Flyover, Gil Puyat Avenue and Ayala Avenue with 4,000 plus estimated runners for the 5K, 10K and 21K. The 21K to be participated in by 1,300 runners will pass the stretch of Ayala Avenue, Paseo de Roxas and Makati Avenue.
The following roads in Makati City will be closed to all vehicles for the exclusive use of the runners from 4:30 AM until the last runner left the area, estimated from 7:00 to 7:30 AM along Ayala Avenue and 7:45 to 8:00 AM along Gil Puyat Avenue.
Westbound directions of EDSA-Kalayaan Flyover, Gil Puyat Avenue from Kalayaan Flyover to corner Ayala Avenue and Ayala Avenue from Gil Puyat Avenue to Makati Avenue; northbound direction of Paseo de Roxas from Ayala Avenue to Makati Avenue, southbound direction of Makati Avenue from Paseo de Roxas to Ayala Avenue and eastbound direction of Ayala Avenue from Makati Avenue to East Drive (turn-around point of 21K).
Traffic Rerouting:
- From Global City to EDSA: Vehicles shall use the ground level of Kalayaan Avenue, go up to EDSA Flyover and down to EDSA;
- From EDSA/Gil Puyat Avenue to SSHW: Turn right to Zodiac Street, left to Jupiter Street, straight ahead to Metropolitan Avenue, left to Sacred Heart Street, left to Kamagong Street, right to Ayala Extn, then right to Gil Puyat Avenue
- From EDSA to Ayala/Gil Puyat Avenue: Vehicles along Ayala Avenue shall turn left to Makati Avenue, right to Dela Rosa Street, right to Salcedo Street, left to Ayala Avenue inner eastbound lanes (counterflow) then left to Gil Puyat Avenue;
- From Gil Puyat Avenue to EDSA: Vehicles along Gil Puyat Avenue will take the normal flow (eastbound direction) up to EDSA-Kalayaan Flyover. Likewise, vehicles along Ayala Avenue shall take the outer lanes of Ayala Avenue from Gil Puyat Avenue up to Salcedo Street, normal flow up to Makati Avenue, then turn right to Makati Avenue, left to Arnaiz Avenue toward EDSA..
