ALI’s Vermosa Sports Hub backs national track athletes

Ayala Land, Inc.’s newly opened Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite is set to become the official home of the Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA). National athletes will train at the only International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) certified track & field oval in the Philippines with specifications and standards equivalent to those they will compete in internationally.

“We hope that our facilities will enhance the training of our national team as they prepare to be the country’s flag-bearers and to represent the Philippines in competitions abroad,” said Jay Teodoro, Estate Head of Vermosa Sports Hub. He added that the sports facilities at Vermosa fill a vital need for an internationally-certified athletics facility in the country that will help improve the performance and competitiveness of national athletes.

Aside from the existing oval and Olympic-sized pool, upon completion of the Sports Hub’s first phase, PATAFA will also have access to the 600-square meter Sante Fitness Lab, a first-of-its-kind combination of facilities in the country which will feature a strength and conditioning fitness site, sports rehab areas, a Sports Science Laboratory, a dance studio, a spinning class area, bike shop and services, a nutrition and fitness café, VO2 max/lactate testing, plus conference and lecture rooms. Future plans also include a provision for a 3,000 seat multi-purpose indoor sports arena.

Vermosa is considered the first of its kind in mixed-use destinations because of its focus on an active lifestyle. The 700-hectare estate in Cavite City brings together residential, retail, and business spots in one destination bolstered by sports and fitness amenities. It is accessible to key urban centers through various road networks via Daang Hari Road, SLEX through the MCX exit, and the upcoming Cavite Laguna Expressway (CALAX) Road — enhancing its potential to be the new growth center in the south.

“Ayala’s support will help the athletes train and perform better, and hopefully bring more medals and recognition for the country,” said PATAFA President Philip Juico.

As a leading developer of mixed-use sustainable estates in the Philippines, ALI is engaged in various initiatives that support national growth and development. These include sustainability, skills training, livelihood and other governance strategies that are aligned with globally-recognized standards and best practices.

Ayala Land has a total of 25 sustainable estates and is present in 55 growth areas nationwide. All of the company’s developments implement sustainability practices focusing on site resilience, pedestrian mobility and transit connectivity, contribution to local employment, and eco-efficiency.
